We are currently seeking an awesome Designer / Front-end Developer to join our team.

About us:

Mouth Media (www.mouthmedia.com) is an established boutique design agency offering web, print, identity and social media design services.

As a member of the Mouth Media team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects for clients such as Mirvish Productions, Luminato, The Gardiner Museum and GreenLane Estate Winery as well as an array of forward-thinking small businesses.

Job location:

Mouth Media Studio, Queen West (at Dufferin), Toronto.

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Are tired of freelancing and dealing with clients more than you actually get to design
  • Are looking to leave 'big agency' life behind and take back your weekends
  • Are creative, professional and have a great attitude
  • Know your online/development trends and advancements
  • Can build what you design in HTML with CSS and you know how to troubleshoot when Internet Explorer screws up your spacing or makes unicorns appear all over the page. It happens. Honest.
  • Have experience with Wordpress design and/or install for blogs or full-site CMS (preferred)
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment – you’ll rarely be bored with the variety of work you’ll get here
  • Can follow a creative brief and back up your ideas and designs with rationale. Sure the little voice in your head told you to use that colour – but did the voice tell you why? Clients like to know
  • Have some academic training. Self-taught is good too but we’ll be checking your code
  • You have a solid portfolio of samples we can look at
  • Strong creative and problem solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to deliver in an often fast-paced environment
  • Always learning

'Nice to have' skills (not a deal breaker):

  • Social media design - (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube...)
  • Flash
  • ActionScript
  • Basic PHP (i.e. using for includes)
  • JQuery implemenation and tweaking
  • Print document set up

We ask potential applicants to provide an online portfolio including website design and development samples and print design samples (noting your role in the project). We are looking to hire ASAP and this is a full-time, in-house salaried position with benefits. Please note your salary expectations when applying.
